This flower traditionally graces christenings, birthdays, weddings and anniversaries. According to tradition, a few pips should be planted in the newlywed's garden; thereafter the perennial blooming of the flowers is said to signify the couple's renewed devotion. The flower has also been credited with heightening romance: In ancient times, its delicate perfume was considered to be a love potion and its essential oil was so valuable it was hidden away in vessels of pure silver & gold. Our lily of the valley line is cast in bronze. The stems are hand patinaed and the flowers have a silver finish with freshwater pearls inside.
